Stage 2 - Salt Lake Valley Time Trial

The Course:

Stage 2 is a 7.9 mile (12.75 km) Time Trail. The course starts at the east edge of Copperton, UT at the intersection of New Bingham and Old Bingham Highways. It proceeds NE down New Bingham Hwy for 2 km and drops 200ft. Then there’s a very sharp right turn onto Hwy 111 heading south

All racers MUST USE the shoulder on Hwy 111. It is well surfaced and sufficiently wide. After 5 km of rollers, the road curves to the right and dips slightly before a long 2 km gradual climb to the Kennecott mine entrance.

Shortly after the entrance, the course U-turns and descend back down to the finish at the bottom of the hill.

Riders will go off at 30 second intervals. There will be a 3 minute gap between categories.

GETTING THERE: From Salt Lake, take I-15 South to the 9000 S Exit. Head west on 9000 S across Bangater Hwy. Continue through the next light west of Bangater (4400W), and take the next left onto Old Bingham Hwy. Continue west for 4 miles and cross Hwy 111. The start is 1 mile ahead. Park along the road on Old Bingham Hwy before the start area.
