Stage 1 is an out and back Road Race through the desolation of Skull Valley. There will be turnarounds at 19.5, 26 and 31 miles (depending on Category).

The entire course is generally flat though there are rollers and some drawn out inclines throughout.

The start is 45 miles west of downtown SLC located on Hwy 196 (exit # 77) just south of I-80
